WWE may have already chosen Roman Reigns’ WrestleMania 41 opponent, after this week’s SmackDown

A WWE personality believes the promotion might have plans for Roman Reigns to take on a familiar foe at next year’s WrestleMania 41. Sam Roberts thinks a third match between Reigns and Cody Rhodes could happen at the Nevada show in 2025.

The Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare are set to team up at Bad Blood 2024 to take on Solo Sikoa and Jacob Fatu. However, their association on SmackDown is expected to be short-lived as several hints have been dropped about Reigns going after Rhodes’ WWE Undisputed Championship.

Even on this week’s SmackDown, where Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes had a memorable promo segment, the former made it clear he wanted his gold back, which he had held for over four years. On his NotSam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts stated that Cody and Reigns were far from down with each other.

The RAW Talk host added that there’s a chance the duo could headline their third WrestleMania in a row next year after their showdowns at Mania 39 and 40.

“For the first time, we have a rivalry [Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns] between two top talents in WWE that could main event three WrestleManias and not only be the first to main event three WrestleManias but do it in a row,” said Sam Roberts. (17:09 – 17:23)

Matt Camp thinks Cody Rhodes and Roman Reigns’ alliance could end soon

On a recent edition of his Wrestling Matt podcast, the former host of WWE’s The Bump mentioned how Reigns and Cody’s pairing wouldn’t last long.

Matt Camp believes Cody Rhodes could be apprehensive of forming a long-term association with The Original Tribal Chief due to their turbulent history in the company.

“Does Cody say to Roman at some point in the next couple weeks, ‘Hey, I’ll do this for you, but I’m done after that.’ Is that the story that’s played? Do you keep that tension between those two? ‘Hey, you took care of me at SummerSlam; I’ll have your back in that tag match. We’re done after that. I don’t need this anymore. I dealt with you. I’ve dealt with your family. I’m now dealing with other parts of your [family]. I’m done. You created this. This is your problem. I’ll owe you one back, and then we’re done.’ I would go in that direction,” he said.

It remains to be seen how Roman Reigns and Cody Rhodes co-exist at WWE Bad Blood 2024, considering they have so many underlying, unresolved issues.
