Cody Rhodes’ Future as Undisputed WWE Champion Revealed, When the Next Title Defense Will Happen
According to a recent report, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes will not face Solo Sikoa at WWE Bad Blood 2024. The two faced each other at WWE SummerSlam on August 3, 2024, in a “Bloodline Rules Match” that marked Roman Reigns’ return.
At WWE Bash in Berlin, Rhodes retained the title against Kevin Owens. Sikoa made it clear that he wanted a match with the winner of that bout, which was subsequently confirmed by WWE that Rhodes would respond to the “Tribal Chief’s” offer on this week’s SmackDown (September 6).
While many presumed this would result in a match being set for WWE Bad Blood on October 5, it may not be what the company has planned. Dave Meltzer stated on Wrestling Observer Radio that we won’t have the rematch specifically at Bad Blood, but it’s still in the company’s plans:
“From what I was told, Cody and Solo are not scheduled for Bad Blood. I don’t know when that match is going to happen, they’re obviously going to set up a match on Friday’s show.”
